Recent Progress (2026)

From March through June 2026, The Trevor Project demonstrated both the urgency and the breadth of its mission. The period opened with the organization's 28th anniversary fundraising campaign and a rapid legal response to the Supreme Court's ruling in Chiles v. Salazar, which weakened conversion therapy protections — a threat the organization countered through petition campaigns, survivor content, and successful advocacy that helped Colorado pass new protective legislation in May. The release of the 2025 U.S. National Survey — drawing on 16,000+ LGBTQ+ youth ages 13–24 — anchored the spring with sobering data: 44% unable to access mental health care, 1 in 10 having attempted suicide, and TGNB youth denied hormone access nearly twice as likely to attempt suicide. Volunteer crisis counselors logged 74,766 hours of care and supported 44,413 contacts in the first quarter alone. Pride Month amplified the organization's reach through the "Always Here, Always Forward" campaign, major corporate partnerships including Sephora ($780,493 raised since 2021) and H&M, and a march past the Stonewall Inn on June 28.
