Mission Statement
HOPELINK'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY; WE HELP PEOPLE MAKE LASTING CHANGE. HOPELINK ACCOMPLISHES THIS BY ASSISTING FAMILIES IN CRISIS WITH FOOD, SHELTER, TRANSPORTATION, UTILITY ASSISTANCE AND EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. ONCE STABILIZED, HOPELINK HELPS FAMILIES WITH BASIC EDUCATION, LITERACY, GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (GED) AND EMPLOYMENT SKILLS BUILDING IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THEIR MOVEMENT TOWARDS SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

From March through June 2026, Hopelink's work centered on food access and transportation equity across the greater Seattle Eastside. The period opened with Can Madness, Hopelink's bracket-style food drive tournament, which ultimately collected over 12,100 pounds of food and more than $4,700 — with Ballinger Thriftway claiming the championship by donating 3,554 pounds in a single week. Community Loaves simultaneously marked a cumulative milestone of 33,000+ sandwich loaves baked since 2020. Spring and early summer brought the Stamp Out Hunger drive, the launch of the Mobile Market truck "Herbie" at Shoreline Community College, and the End Summer Hunger campaign. On the transportation front, Find a Ride advanced to Phase 2 with FTA funding, and Hopelink's leaders presented their nonprofit-city transit model at the national CTAA Expo in Omaha.

- 🚚Hopelink's Mobile Market truck 'Herbie' made its inaugural stop at Shoreline Community College, launching recurring bi-monthly free grocery distributions.
- 🍎The End Summer Hunger campaign activated no-cost food markets providing proteins, produce, and kid-friendly meals to families losing access to school meals.
- 🏳️🌈Hopelink partnered with Pride Across the Bridge to provide safe, supportive spaces for LGBTQIA+ community members during Pride Month.
- ✊Hopelink promoted six Juneteenth celebrations across Seattle, Shoreline, Edmonds, and Tukwila on June 19, honoring Black history and economic freedom.
