Mission Statement
THE MISSION OF THE COLORADO COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS IS TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY TOWARD THE PREVENTION OF HOMELESSNESS AND THE CREATION OF LASTING SOLUTIONS FOR FAMILIES, CHILDREN, AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING OR AT-RISK OF HOMELESSNESS THROUGHOUT COLORADO. CCH ADVOCATES FOR AND PROVIDES A CONTINUUM OF HOUSING AND A VARIETY OF SERVICES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH, WELL-BEING AND STABILITY OF THOSE IT SERVES.

From March through June 2026, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless achieved a series of landmark wins that defined the period. The organization's legislative advocacy culminated in May with all three of its 2026 priority bills passed — including HB26-1202 to strengthen regional collaboration on homelessness — backed by 29 staff testimonies and 75 Lobby Day supporters. On the housing development front, CCH announced a 135-unit income-restricted supportive housing partnership with the Denver Housing Authority in March and broke ground on the 60-unit Park Avenue Apartments in May. By June, Denver had recorded a 64% reduction in street homelessness since 2023. Throughout the period, CCH sustained health services, community education, and emergency shelter activations, while expanding advocacy into LGBTQ+ housing rights and civic engagement.
Key Achievements
- 📉Denver achieved a record-setting 64% reduction in street homelessness since 2023, including a 34% cut in unsheltered homelessness in the past year.
- 🧴Vaseline donated 200 Healing Project Hygiene Kits distributed to clients at Stout Street Health Center and through the Street Medicine team.
- 🏃Four top Colfax Marathon Relay teams, including CCH's own staff team 'The Runs,' selected CCH as their charity partner, raising thousands of dollars for the mission.
- 🏥HRSA Administrator Thomas Engels and HHS Region 8 Administrator Victoria Seaman visited the 48th Avenue Health Center on June 21, 2026.
- 🏆Susan Dunn, Director of the Renaissance Children's Center, was recognized at the Annual Children's Champion Awards hosted by Triad and served as keynote speaker.
