Recent Progress (2026)
From March through May 2026, Fistula Foundation demonstrated both the scale and the agility of its global surgical mission. The period opened with International Women's Day storytelling β centering survivors like Caroline in Kenya β and accelerated into April with the disclosure of landmark outcomes: 13,000+ surgeries funded, 73% surgical growth in under two years, a 49% increase in local surgical partners, and 37% geographic expansion across the Global South. A Mother's Day matching campaign offered up to $250,000 in matched gifts to fund surgeries in Nigeria. May brought operational depth: 45 surgeries performed in Tanzania during International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, emergency PPE grants issued in response to a new Ebola outbreak in DRC's Ituri Province, and partner surgeon Dr. Hillary Mabeya recognized as an Honorary Fellow of ASCRS. June 2026 data was unavailable for this synthesis.
