EdTrust is committed to advancing policies and practices to dismantle the racial and economic barriers embedded in the American education system. Through our research and advocacy, EdTrust improves equity in education from preschool through college, engages diverse communities dedicated to education equity and justice, and increases political and public will to build an education system where students will thrive.

EdTrust's March–June 2026 period was defined by its 30th anniversary and an intensifying defense of federal education equity policies under threat. The organization mobilized advocates from 10 states for its Equity Matters Bootcamp and Hill Day, securing meetings with over 40 congressional offices, while issuing formal statements opposing Indiana's ESSA waiver and proposed federal voucher tax credits. Research output was substantial: the "Ready for Rigor" report exposed advanced coursework gaps in Michigan, a new brief warned that 1 in 4 graduate borrowers would exceed proposed federal loan limits, and a Workforce Pell implementation guide prepared advocates for the July 2026 rollout. New platforms — the edUnplugged podcast and CEO Insights video series — extended EdTrust's reach into public discourse on literacy, AI equity, and school leadership.
