From March through June 2026, Unite to Light built significant momentum across program delivery, partnerships, and public visibility. April's Earth Month brought high-profile recognition — CEO Megan Birney Rudert was honored as an Environmental Hero at the 56th Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival — alongside a corporate fundraising partnership with Citizen Watch US and a student-led delivery of hundreds of solar lights to rural Ghana. May spotlighted health equity, with 76 midwives in Bangladesh receiving solar lights and chargers, and a Rwanda donation-matching campaign launched to expand access. June marked the period's most concentrated delivery: the LP3 program distributed over 3,500 Luke Lights and Haven Lanterns across Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and Liberia, while an emergency response campaign mobilized solar lights for families affected by Venezuela's June 25 double earthquake. The inaugural Illuminating Impact Symposium, held at UCSB on International Day of Light, anchored the period's convening work.
Key Achievements
