Mission Statement
Partners In Health (PIH) is a non-profit, global health organization that fights social injustice by bringing the benefits of modern medical science first and foremost to the most vulnerable communities worldwide. In Haiti, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Lesotho, Peru, Mexico, Kazakhstan, U.S., and Navajo Nation, PIH's work focuses on those who would not otherwise have access to quality health care. PIH partners with the world's leading academic institutions to create rigorous evidence that shapes more sound and all-inclusive global health policies. PIH also supports local governments' efforts to build capacity and strengthen national health systems.

The defining story of March–June 2026 for Partners In Health is the opening and rapid scaling of the Paul E. Farmer Maternal Center of Excellence (MCOE) in Kono District, Sierra Leone — a $25 million facility that welcomed 27 patients and delivered 13 babies in its first 24 hours and, by June, had served more than 2,950 women and 900 newborns, including through Sierra Leone's first NICU. Alongside this landmark, PIH mounted a record-breaking TB advocacy push — convening ~300 advocates from all 50 states at TB Hill Day in March — while deploying the TB Elimination Project in Lesotho (2,237 screened, 47 diagnosed) and launching a new TB Search, Treat, and Prevent Program in the Philippines. Infrastructure investments in Lesotho (seven solar-powered clinics) and Liberia (24/7 electricity and running water at a hospital) deepened care capacity, while the ALMA project achieved its first breast cancer remission after screening 1,800+ women in Peru.
